wire harness short out caused a fire

I have had starting problems, you turn Key over it does not start you release key and it starts on its own with out touching key, However this day after leaving work I had only traveled 2 miles, and saw smoke coming out the back and pulled off road and by the time I stopped the whole undercarriage under me was on fire. as I opened the door the flames burned my legs, with the help of neighbors and a fire extinguisher I got fire out but Truck is a loss, only having PLPD insurance I have to pay out of pocket, over 2000$ in parts and over 4000 in Labour. so it sit in my drive way till I have time to pull body off and find a wire harness so I can try to get some money for it,, I have since found others that have had Chevy trucks with shorts and fire like mine from battery area over transmission and all the way to fuel tanks, HELP,
