Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Please take a moment & say thank you by donating $5 or whatever you can to the Center for Auto Safety.

problem #2

Jun 252004

Corvette 8-cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 75,000 miles

Upon starting the vehicle steering wheel wouldn't move, and vehicle failed to start when the keys was turned in the ignition. This occurred due to a defect described in the electronic column lock recall 04V060000. But, this vehicle was not included in the recall due to VIN.

Corvette 8-cyl

Car when moving in reverse aprox. 5mph had steering wheel lock. Steering would not move but car would move in forward or had rear left wheel rim damaged (scraped) from contact with curb. Followed directions on computer to no avail. Let it set for 24 hr. And everything was back to normal..the car has since done this twice more and been put in storage since Nov.of 2003
