Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Please take a moment & say thank you by donating $5 or whatever you can to the Center for Auto Safety.

My 2005 C6 was stuck in park, faulty solenoid it will not engage dog ear to allow you shift out of park, leaves you stranded, dealer wants $800 to replace entire shifter since the solenoid is riveted to. There are many C6 owners dealing with same issue. [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

Driving at 1-35 mph engine and electrical will shut off, all lights and engine shuts off. Put car in park, engine starts right away. In 2014 GM recall of 2005 cobalt and Pontiac for same problem, it was said that six people died. I have the same problem. This almost happened to me. I am afraid to drive the car. Called GM and talked to a specialist named scott at 1-866-790-5600 ext. 31087. I was asked to take the car back to the dealership, so they will look at it for the 3rd time. This has been going on since May 08, 2013 -- almost 1 year. Please help me before something happens to me or my family. The car is at jack schmitt Chevrolet, 127 regency park drive; O'fallon il 62269 (618) 628-2500

After about 2.5 years the convertible top mechanism started getting noisy and then refused to close all the way. The dealer repaired it under warranty with a new electric motor and a pump repair kit. About a year later the exact same thing happened but the dealer refused to repair it under the original warranty saying that it was a different problem. This time he replaced all the hydraulic hoses on the left side and charged me about $900. I feel that the problem wasn't properly repaired the first time.

Complaint received via E-mail. While driving home, the crank bolt which holds the engine pulley, came untreated from the crankshaft. This disintegrated all three belts, and I lost the power steering. At 65 mph, this is rather an un-nerving experience! had this happened to a small woman, she might have lost control of the vehicle in the rush hour traffic. There have been at least 10 instances of the crank bolt coming out from the engine.
