CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2006 Equinox is plagued by a heating problem, as in the heater only blows cold air.

The reported cause of this problem is a small door, known as the air temperature blend door, which allows air to flow past the heater core. This door has a plastic connecting shaft to an electric motor and the shaft is prone to breaking after a few years. The problem has a typical repair cost of over $800.

The 2006 Equinox also has a number of reported problems ranging from the key getting stuck in the ignition, to failing speed sensors, and trouble starting the engine. All in all, this car sounds like one worth avoiding.

I'm totally confused as to why my "lifetime" warranty brakes are giving out in less 1 year of getting them replaced. Now I paid top dollar for these brakes and I'm still scrubbing.

Something stinks about this model. Chevy CUT MAJOR Corners with this one!

i just got this car in may 2010. the brakes ware out fast! at first i loved it, then the key broke off in the ignition, 400 to replace the whole ignition housing and system. then i take it for tire rotation 2 months ago, had to replace back tires bc they were bald on the inside, the brakes are crap back there. it wobbled in the snow and rain, now the front wobbles. it wont start half the time. when i turn the heat on or air, i get the smell of formaldehyde and sometimes something else. the brakes are crap, and get this, i had the hand break up and the car in park lastnight i reached in to get my purse and it rolled a little then stopped, i dont get it!!! this car is a piece of crap, its going to cost over 1000 to fix the damn brakes!
