Check engine light will not go off. Had engine check, it always smell like gass is leaking. When down to 60...70 miles to empty. When you open the gas tank there is air flowing or gas draining. When the noise stops, then you can pump the gas with out the gas pump stopping. The light and blinkers are constantly having to be replaced.

Our 2007 Chevy Equinox had condensation in the headlights, which they were replaced when we bought the vehicle from the dealership May 20, 2014. In October 2015, condensation began building up again in the driver's side lens. We replaced a bulb in November and in February, ended up replacing the entire component due to condensation gathering in the headlight, to the cost of over $400! this is obviously a design flaw for this vehicle.

On October 19, 2009, I purchased a Chevrolet Equinox 2007. At the time of purchase I noticed condensation in the passenger side front headlight lens and I was told by the salesman at the time that it would "burn off" if I kept the lights on. Since that time both driver and passenger headlights have developed the condensation issue. The condensation does not burn off just keeps accumulating to the point where the headlight bulb would just burn out. In the past six years I have replaced the various bulbs in the headlight assembly nine times and the bulb socket assemblies have been corroded as a result of the constant presence of moisture. Often times I would be driving at night when the bulbs would go out making this a severe safety issue.

I have had to replace headlights in this car at least 7 times to date. Since the car was about a year old, there has always been a heavy build-up of condensation inside the headlamp assembly....which is very poorly designed. The entire assembly from the left side of the car to the right has to be taken off to access the headlamps. Obviously, the assembly design does not seal sufficiently to keep out moisture.

The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that the seals for the head lights failed, allowing water to penetrate the head light assembly and cause the lights to continuously burn out. The contact spoke with the dealer but the vehicle was not repaired. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was unknown, but the current mileage was 114,000.

I have had my Equinox since 2008; it is a 2007 model. I have had continual repairs on the electrical rear lights and the belt tensioner, but this next repair is by far the worst. When the car was in park position the odor of gasoline was strong around the perimeter of the car. When driving, the smell of gas circulated into the air conditioning system penetrating the inside of the car. The smell was strongest on the outer side by the gas tank. I took the car to get a diagnostic test and found a leak above the gas tank. Further inspection revealed the fuel pump was leaking gasoline, about six inches from the muffler. This defect could have resulted in serious injury or fatalities as I regularly carry children in the back seat. This car is only 5 years old and it seems to require too many repairs for the few years/miles it has traveled. As a thoughtful vehicle owner, I take precautions to preserve the life of my vehicle through regular maintenance and covered storage from natural elements. Certainly these kinds of defects are not an expected occurrence in this kind of vehicle. Disappointed Equinox owner :(

I have had continuous problems with brake lights and turn signal lights going out.. over the last couple of weeks my headlights have been getting stuck in the bright position, now yesterday on my drive home smoke started coming from between my steering wheel and the dash; during this the blue bright light indicator was flashing. I pulled over and exited the car. The smoke dissipated very quickly and continued the short distance home with no more problems... I called the dealership who said it sounded like I had wires "touching" they want me to bring it in however my warranty is up, and I am on a limited income. This is very frustrating considering it sounds like a manufacture problem.
