Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

The contact owns a 2008 Chevrolet Express 2500 cargo van. The contact that the passenger side cargo door hinge failed and as result, the doors were not able to close properly. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who verified the failure and stated that the hinge needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 65,000.

The contact owns a 2008 Chevrolet Express 2500. The contact stated that the driver side door mountain bracket that was attached to the arm rest of the door panel fractured from the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the technician stated that the entire door panel would need to be replaced because the part was not available separately. The manufacturer was contacted and was unable to assist. The contact stated that the repairs were covered under warranty but he was concerned that the failure would recur in the future. The approximate failure mileage was 19,300.
