Gas gauge stopped working. Most of the time the low fuel light will come on. I have to use the trip meter and the amount of fuel used monitor to estimate amount of gas in tank. When I get to about 12 gal used I fill up and reset.

My gas gauge reads anywhere from "low fuel" to full, within a 5 minute period, no matter how much fuel's in my car. This has been ongoing for over a year now and happens EVERY time I'm driving.

fuel gauge is all over the place. somtimes shows full for days then half a tank then full then empty, just totally useless. like others we go by the odometer. this is not a rare problem and is extensive in chevy blazers as well. don't buy chevy or gm, I've had more problems with this car then is normal or expected. I'm going to attempt cleaning the sending unit sensor, which is in the tank, and see if that helps.

Impala LS 3.8L

When I bought my impala in the summer of 06.I thought I was getting a great deal. The car ran great. looked great, and got good gas mileage for the size of the car. 3 days after buying the car I noticed the gas gauge hadn't moved. It was either my car was super awesome on gas...or the gauge was broken. I wished for the first reason, but ended up with the second. I was pissed. I went back to the dealer but they said the warranty didn't cover that. All I could do was walk out and curse that dealer's name.So Then I just used the thing that shows me how much gas I use.. every time I get to 10 gals. I fill up again. I'm done buying from chevy. wayyy too many problems.

Water Temp Gauge stopped working on Gauge Cluster then Speedometer would go out intermittently. Very Unsafe and i agree with the amount of people having these issues GM should do a recall. Its my grandfathers car. I only buy Hondas Toyotas or Nissans and now Hyundais because they are built wayyyy better than AMERICAN cars HAHAHA.

Fuel gauge hasn't worked in a while. Cannot purchase the sending unit separately, so I replaced the pump unit in the gas tank. Works fine so far.
