What you have is a leak at the hood seal. The water is running down the weather channels as it's supposed to but the seal at the hood nearest the windshield is no longer blocking the water from going over the lip. The water makes its way past the seal down through your cabin air filter, down through the heater motor and onto the floor. This can also create heater motor shorts and you will lose that blower if the water goes the wrong way after the cabin air filter. If you can replace the seal do that, but you may be able to get by simply by using an adhesive and making sure that seal is good at the hood. Good luck with the fix!
