My Chevy is not starting. Thinking it was a dead battery I put it on the charger. This gets the car going but after driving for a few minutes the Radio reads "lockout" and the if running the air conditioner at the same time, that quits. I took it to the Chevy dealer and they said I had a bad cell in the battery. I replaced the battery and that did not resolve the problem. I took it back to the Chevy dealer and they said it must be the alternator. I replaced the alternator and that has not resolved the problem. Now $500 bucks later...I'm still in LOCKOUT. I am not going to throw any more parts at this car until someone had a REAL answer, not a guess. My only ride to work, I now travel with cables and charger. I hope someone can help.
Update from Jun 21, 2010: Well, I ended up spending 450.00 for the computer brains. So far, so good. Struts were bad and then replaced tires from bad wear. Total, 1800.00. Better than car payments and the so far is driving like a dream. Hope it doesn't turn into another nightmare.
