About a year ago, my traction control system started acting up and activating on turns at low speed. As if the car wasn't doing the math that says one tire should be moving faster than the other. It would activate the traction control and make my car not accelerate causing dangerous situations while pulling into traffic. So I decided just to turn the system off as I start the car. It was easier than putting any more money into this god awful car that is constantly needing repairs done.

Now, about 1 month ago, I got a light that came on while lightly braking on a dry surface that said "Service Traction System." Also the Traction and ABS both were on. It didn't do it again for about a week. Now, 4 weeks after the first incident, this happens nearly every time I drive the vehicle. I actually look forward to it, because it makes it easy to brake without the abs system making a lot of noise and slowing down my braking. It seems to be a dangerous situation that I have to get fixed, yet, there is no recall. Awesome. This seems to be a very common problem people have with this car, and everything I'm reading says to go get the codes checked.

I replaced front bearings and hubs over 8 months ago and my ABS, traction control light, and service transaction light came on. I took it to a different shop and the mechanic told me to take it back to place I had bearings done because the clip that holds the wires that go to ABS system was the wrong size and wires slipped through to fall on the drive shaft and cut them so they were not connected to ABS system. I took it back to the place that replaced them and they replaced the left bearing and the lights went off. I pray this is the answer. This car has 145,000 miles on it and it has had many problems since the prior owner had it.

In October 2008 I had my brakes, rotor, and axle fixed in my car. A month later the traction light and abs light came on. The message center indicated the traction needed service. Never did this happen before, to any avail I have taken it leaving money I did not have to just take a look and nothing. Is this car dangerous to drive? I am truly afraid to drive my car more then 25 miles from my home. What can I do? Is there a way to take all these complaints to GM - they don't think about the expense we consumers have but yet they are able to get money from the government to continue their multimillion dollar companies. I believe American companies are not reliable no responsible anymore we have to turn to foreign cars to keep us on the road. All they are after is the green for their pockets and out of the consumer who truly keeps them afloat. How about us the consumers who are left with a LEMON of a car NO bailout money to be able to purchase a dependable & better car. What happen to buy American with better products it SUCKS!
