Car stalls. Have replace so many different parts but it still stalls. Never know how long I will sit at the intersection trying to get car to start again. Also stalls while driving down hwy. When this happens I have no power steering. I just pray there is no one in my way while trying to get car off the hwy.

Impala LS 3.8L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 122,000 miles

I purchased a used 2002 Impala 3.8 LS V6 in 2010 and since then, it's been nothing but problems. I purchased it from the dealership with 97,000 miles on and the first thing to go was the battery. Then, the transmission starting acting up out of nowhere. Cost $2000 to get fixed, now the car is stalling out. Doesn't matter if I'm at a stop light or driving on the freeway, the car just quits. I've been doing some research and I found that so many people are having the same problem with the car stalling for the same reasons. Really!?! I cannot believe Chevrolet knows about this problem and has not addressed the problem. Seriously a car stalling while driving on the freeway is super dangerous, especially if someone doesn't know how to think or respond quickly in such situations. I'm hoping to find out what the problem is with this car before it kills me. And if it doesn't, anyone who thinks about getting an impala will get a negative 10 from me. I will be getting a Honda, Nissan, or Toyota after having this car.

Impala LS 3.8L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 110,000 miles

This was bad, it took a long time for the code to show. The car would quit and then it was very difficult to get started and once it did start, good luck. I would drive with one foot on the brake to keep it going. I haven't had anymore problems with this since having the mass air flow sensor replaced. The dealer mechanics were clueless until the code showed up.
