Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

I was driving with my son and the car just cut off in the middle of the street. Thank god we didn't get hit. The car cut back on but that was scary. It (the car) also has some type of security feature that won't allow the car to start at times.

Impala

  • 100,000 miles
I have a 2002 Chevy Impala. I have so many problems with is car since the moment I drove it off the lot. In my opinion, the whole car should be recalled. But, I am only going to file a complaint on my current issue. This is the second time this has happened to my car. About a year ago, I starting hearing a roaring sound coming from the front of my car when I drove down the road. It was really strange because it sounded like the engine, but the noise was not cause from pushing the gas, just the tires driving down the road. I took it to a local automotive center. They informed me that it was the hub bearing located near my tire. They told me it was so bad that my tire would have fallen off while driving, which could have a caused an accident. They fixed it, charging me $350. Now, last month (Nov 08), I started hearing that same noise. I already know that it's the same problem, but unsure if its coming from the same side or not. It is so bad that when I am going around a curve while driving, the whole car shakes and rattles. I cannot afford to get this fixed again. I have children and am very concerned for our safety. I just think that this is a very serious problem and could be dangerous. I do think that Chevy should recall this.

A state inspection @30,000 miles revealed a bad upper control arm, left and right inner tie rod ends and both motor mounts. My mechanic feels as though these part failures are very premature and were caused by a very loose steering rack. He told me that I should contact someone to see if there is a repair bulletin for this problem. I don't think a car should need that kind of front end work a 30,000 miles. I'm also concerned that my wife, who drives the car on a daily basis, is at risk while driving herself and our 2 kids to and from their daily routines. Please let me know if anything can be done to correct this problem as soon as possible!! thank you!!

The consumer states the head light lenses produced condensation. As a result, the lights were dim. Water was getting into the headlights and there was a front and rear alignment problem. As a result of these two problems, there was poor night vision and the tires needed to be replaced.
