The contact owns a 2009 Chevrolet Impala. The contact heard an abnormal noise near the passenger side of the vehicle after the front driver side door was opened. When the vehicle was started, the noise increased and suddenly stopped. The failure occurred on numerous occasions. The dealer stated that the door actuator needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired and the manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 83,000.
