Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Please take a moment & say thank you by donating $5 or whatever you can to the Center for Auto Safety.

My 1998 Lumina is will not start unless the gas pedal is pumped (this is a fuel injection car) and once the car is running it idles very rough as though the car will stall. The dealership raised the injectors and replaced a harness and let the car idle for 2 1/2 hours. On the next cold start the car is still the same. It goes back to the dealership on Monday.

Vehicle was set on cruise control at 50-55mph when it started to pick up speed. Consumer applied brakes and tried to turn cruise off. To stop vehicle consumer put it in neutral/ applied brakes, and vehicle rolled over some gravel which helped to slow vehicle down and into park. A mechanic disconnected cruise control. Brakes were burned out trying to stop the vehicle. Manufacturer referred the consumer to a dealer to have a diagnostic test done.

Consumer was slowing to come to a complete stop when the vehicle suddenly speeded up. The experience was as if someone floored the accelerator. Pedal to the floor. Consumer looked to see if foot was on the gas and it was not. Vehicle took off from stop sign and ran into a car, the car spun leaving vehicle at this time is still. Accelerator at high speed and the driver's side air bag deployed. Vehicle then hit a tree on the left side bumper at fifty feet away from crash of car. Still at high speed she then ran into a house, then the passenger's side air bag deployed. ( the paintery body shop, streator, illinos is doing the repairs on the vehicle's body. Phone # 815-673-2447).
