Premature tire failure at the bead of the tire. Bridgestone driveguard run flat tires. Vehicle has a tire pressure monitoring system. Two days before the event we replaced a non related sensor in the vehicle. While the vehicle was in for service a complete service check was done including verifying the proper tire pressure in all tires. The day of the event, while on the highway driving 70 mph, the vehicle suddenly pulled to the right. After pulling over it was discovered the right front tire had ripped at the edge of the bead. The hole created was about 1 1/2 inches long. The tire have about 5000 miles on them and are rated for 60,000 miles. I have pictures of the failure. The rims, tires and car have no signs of damage such as curb rub. I have no confidence in these tires and believe that I am not the only one to experience this type of dangerous premature tire failure.

Odor from leaking cooling system. Car pulls to left. Driver does seat not adjust with the control. Front tires are worn down cords showing. Bought car at ourisman chev. Car dealer (34,523 miles) with platinum coverage. Car current (49,512 miles). They insisted that I should pay for new tires$295. Transmission flush $249. Fuel induction service $179. Coolant hose$10. That my plan only cover surge tank which I have to pay $100 deductible. I brought the car 5/17/12. Reading through complaints 2009 Malibu have similar car problem. I don't have the funds for all these problem for a car that own for this short period of time.

2009 Malibu, I have replaced 1 tire when side wall broke after hitting a bump also have a bent rim on a different wheel, tires are weak don't ride well, complained to dealer and GM was not willing to compromise on cost of new rim and different brand tires. Was told that GM does not warranty the tires. I have owned Chevy's for 40 years, I presently own 3 that are all on the road no more GM's for me.
