The contact owns a 2000 Chevrolet Monte Carlo. While driving approximately 5 mph over a bump, the contact heard a loud banging noise coming from the rear of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer who stated the rear strut tower was completely covered with rust and beyond repair. The manufacturer was notified and stated there was no recall pertaining to the defect. The failure mileage was 190,000.
