Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. The contact owns a 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo. When the vehicle stopped the front air bags deployed. The manufacturer had an inspector come out to inspect the vehicle and confirmed that there was a faulty air bag system. The manufacturer stated that they would purchase the vehicle since repairing it was not an option. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 124,314.

There is a recall on the air bag, but not the deployment. The recall number was unknown. The current mileage was 90,407 and failure mileage was 79,000.

The contact was under the impression that she purchased a brand new vehicle. She experienced several problems since the purchase of this vehicle. The vehicle has been taken to the dealership three times, and no corrections have been made. The dealer discovered the rotors were bent, and brakes leak fluid. The vehicle stalled, and shook terribly. The air bags were fell out of the dashboard. The seat belts on the driver's side intermittently worked. The dealership insisted there was nothing wrong with the vehicle. She contacted the attorney general's office regarding the lemon laws. She attempted to get the dealership to take the vehicle back, but they will not offer any assistance. The vehicle was no longer under warranty even though it had only 10,000 miles on it at this time.
