My car started to blow cold air only on the driver's side and it would have to go out when it was still cold outside and I really needed that heat.
After some research I found that the problem was the blend door actuator was stuck and it was going to be a pain is the butt to get to. Luckily my dad's pretty handy and helped me fix a $350.00 problem and all I spent was $36.00 at Autozone for the part.
This seems to be a problem that others have had too. My shop told me that the foam seal had rotted off leaving the glue exposed to cause the louver door to stick shut. This seems to me to be a very minor detail that GM has over looked. How long have they been building cars? In many ways I love this car and predict it will be one of the prominent classic cars of our time but GM needs to get the little things right that are very costly and unnecessary.
I will never buy another chevy. I bought this car for my son who is in a wheel chair. He is going to college and this is his only transportation because of the hand controls. This was the 1st problem. We have had it in the shop for oil leaks $1,100 and 15 days in the shop it was finally fixed that was in Feb.2011. Now here we are again this time it has been in the shop since mon. the 20th of June and now it is the panel cluster and $700 to fix it By the way I bought this car brand new. I am driving a 1999 ford van bought brand new and have never had any problems just regular maintenance. When does it end. I guess when I buy him another car. FOR SURE NOT A CHEVY!!!!!!!!!!!!! Does GM not believe in RECALLS or they just don't care.
Driver's side temperature slider moves normally but only cold air comes out of vents. It causes condensation on windshield or frozen feet. Winter's coming!

I like cold air and all, but lemme tell ya - come winter time, I want my windows frost-free... and FAST!!! Unfortunately, with such an issue, I didn't discover the problem until the frosty days of fall hit... and for a job that takes a miniumum of 6 hours, it wasn't exactly easy to arrange time to get the problem fixed... especially when the local GM Dealers argued about giving me the replacement vehicle that my "Extended Warranty" clearly states I'd be provided with.
Bottom line, if you don't want a head-ache like the one I've endured - check your Heater BEFORE it starts to be required and get it fixed at your convenience - instead of going through several mornings without heat and, worse, without visibility through your windows!!!
