Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Please take a moment & say thank you by donating $5 or whatever you can to the Center for Auto Safety.

2004 Chevrolet SSR Owner Comments

I have been advised by the orange county sheriff to report the headlight covers on my 2004 Chevrolet Ssr are melting from the heat of the headlight. They have told me that this is a safety hazard that the manufacturer needs to address. I have spoken to Chevrolet but they say my vehicle is out of warranty. I have driven many vehicles in my life for longer periods of time and have never had the headlight covers melt. Per the sheriff, this is a safety hazard and they feel that this is not just a single problem to my vehicle and to ask for a recall. Thank you.
