My 1996 Silverado won't run but when it does it burns out fuel pumps. I have replaced fuel pump, filter and sending unit and still can't get it to run. Sending unit cost me $350.00 and it wasnt money well spent. I wish I could find out what the problem is so I can fix it and then I think I will take out the motor and plant some really nice flowers in there.
Update from Nov 25, 2009: Took truck into auto electric and found out it was just the connector that goes to the sending unit and it would seem this is a common problem with this model. $100 to fix it and the dude said he would see me again in about 2 or 3 years to fix same problem. I can live with that. I would also like to point out my truck has over a million miles on it and counting. 1,208,xxx.x (1 million 208 thousand plus) rusting from the inside out but to whom it may concern, I WILL NOT let this truck die. (Try as it may)
