Silverado Z71 5.3L

Piece of sh*t 4l60e's. I have done a lot of research in truck mag's, online vids, gone online to web sites. I finally figured that the best thing to do is take it (transmission) apart my self, because these freakin mechanics (real crooks) take advantage of the regular folks.

Some of the premature failure is maintenance on the transmission, i.e. fluid flush every 25,000 miles, and a HD trans, cooler, and software updates (flash update) from the dealer.

Other recommendations are, install a deeper Trans pan (www.mag-hytec.com)

to hold more trans fluid, HD trans cooler, use 4l65e parts as HD upgrades. There's a book at Barnes and Noble in the car section that helps and guides you in rebuilding a better 4l60e transmission.
