Silverado LX 5.3L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 105,000 miles

The 1 and 4, and 3, and 6 lights on the radio went out and don't know how to fix. I talked to a guy who has a 2001 silverado and his lights are doing the same thing. He also said that it can only be fixed by taking it to a dealership and getting a whole new dash put on, which I think is absolutely insane. I want to know why the lights are not connected to a fuse.

Silverado LS 4.8L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 50,000 miles

The lights on the climate control started to fail at around 40,000 miles. They are not replaceable, at least not through GM. When out, it is impossible to set the controls without turning on the overhead light, which is dangerous at night. There are ways to wire LED lights as replacements, but it is difficult and time consuming to do so.
