i was researching the internet for a solution for my 2001 silverado, we have a cranks but no start condition, when the truck went down i was driving home and i went over the railroad tracks and all of a sudden my truck just died and would not start, luckily i got pulled home, i let the truck sit for about an hour or so, then went out and it started and then it died and has never started again, we had consulted many people who we thought were knowledgeable and we got nowhere, now i must admit i was to stubborn to take it to the dealer to diagnose it so we started changing things in hopes of reviving the engine, (come to find out it was the fuel pump that went out) , to make a long story short we replaced the ignition switch and key lock cylinder and it looks like the security shut us down, i have read that there is a way to bypass the sensors in the ignition by cutting the yellow wire and the orange/black wire and wiring a 2200 ohm resistor between the two so the truck will start, is this a good idea/ dont have the money to take it to the dealer, also the dealer did nothing to help in this situation, its like they never heard of passkey, or tamper sensors/////. any help is welcome. so no we need all the suggestions we can get.

thank you
