Had rear differential "rebuilt" for $2,100 only to have problem of loud clunking noise from rear end when shifting gears return a few months later. Differential cover had slow fluid leak later. Had the gasket replaced from a different place and it started leaking again a few months later. U joints have also been replaced.

Silverado 2500HD LS 6.0L

  • Automatic transmission

A clunking noise when I accelerate at low speed or decelerate. It does it more so when the truck is cold. All shocks have been checked & all body bolts tightened, when under the truck it sounds like it could be coming from transmission mount. Could this be the problem.
