Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

2002 Chevy Silverado 1500 lt I have a popping or clunking noise that I can hear and feel on the steering wheel. This noise is very noticeable when backing up or moving forward at very slow speed.

The other day I heard a grinding noise on the drivers side of the truck. I knew it wasn't the brake pads since I had changed them a few months ago. It turned out to be the wheel bearings. These are a sealed system and not able to service them on either side. The system has to be replaced. I asked the parts store about these, and he said common problem and if not fixed, the rotor and bearing assembly could snap off and create and accident. I had a 2000 Chevy Silverado 1500 that had the same problem.
