Why would a shifter work smoothly only once in a while? This is the reason I bought the truck, for the 4wd. I was told by dealer nothing wrong and to bring it back if happened again. So, on my own I have figured out if I grab the knob on top with palm of my hand and jerk it back with all the force I can without ripping more tendons in my elbow, it will shift. Also, tried stopping it and shifting into neutral, then floor shifting. Thank God I only have a two year lease, I already have a bad elbow. That's why I got a great lease deal. Everyone wants the auto 4wd.
