Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Please take a moment & say thank you by donating $5 or whatever you can to the Center for Auto Safety.

Contact has no brakes between 0-10 mph. Brakes do work at other speeds. The vehicle wa seen by a local dealer who wanted to charge for repairs. The caller saw a recall for Canadian vehicles in regard to what may be this same problem. The problem was front wheel speed sensor corrosion. There has been no accident although there were three near misses. The first incident was a year ago.

My 2001 Chevrolet Silverado with approx 46,000 miles has the same intermittent slow speed ABS activation problem as I have read other accounts of here. ABS will activate at below 5 mph such as pulling into parking space garage etc thankfully I have never hit anything as yet but have had close calls have had to dealer and told that I needed two new sensors minimum maybe whole hub assembly but even if I repair that if the sensors go bad or get rust under them this could happen again with no warning light. There is no ABS warning light activated for this failure and this is the saftey problerm !!! there has been a Canadian recall for this why not in us "?" have deactivated ABS for time being rather than worry if the truck will stop when I want it too.

Brake pedal will go to the floor if a bump/uneven spot in the road is encountered while braking. No mechanical corrections taken yet...should be a recall issue. Pedal travel and braking can only be regained if I let off the pedal and reapply...and there's no more bumps. Has randomly occured throughout ownership depending upon road conditions.

The ABS system is locking up while driving. The vehicle feels pulling back and someone is tugging on the vehicle while driving. The vehicle starts with the problem about 65 mph. Consumer has not tried to correct the problem yet. She is waiting on the dealership to call her back. This problem started about two months ago. This is the only transportation that the consumer has. The dashboard lights are on, the ABS light and the emergency light are on.

Silverado 2500 8-cyl

Consumer's ABS motor will not shut off, causing the battery to run down. The warning light for the ABS illuminated. The service dealer stated the entire ABS motor needed to be replaced. The contact did pull the fuse to the ABS system. Consumer feels that since the ABS is a required option then it should be covered under warranty instead of costing $1,000 to replace. Consumer feels that since it's the braking system that it would be a safety issue and states that Arizona is only worried about emissions.

Replaced both wheel hubs on front of 2001 Silverado 2500 hd (at 39000 miles) due to anti lock brakes not working properly. I spent $900 on this repair because I was going on vacation and pulling a fifth wheel camper. The repair tech said this is not a common problem...I now wonder

For no reason and at low speeds the anti lock brakes activate. Happens most of the time when brake is applied. Dealer says the sensors are dirty, had the sensors cleaned, but problem is still there.
