Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Please take a moment & say thank you by donating $5 or whatever you can to the Center for Auto Safety.

Consumer 2005 Silverado makes a very loud wind blowing noise while driving.

problem #1

Aug 152005

Silverado 2500 8-cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 500 miles
Noticed vehicle vibration at 45 mph like tire out of round. At 55 mph and greater, vibration felt like tire out of balance. GM tells me problem is normal, will not correct. GM calls the problem "beaming", and suggests placing 500 lbs in bed of truck. Tried this and vibration still exists. Truck shakes so bad at 65 mph that it is unstable in curves, making it difficult to handle. The vehicle cannot continue to be reliable with this continuous vibration eating away at the suspension system. The vehicle now has developed a harmonic noise at 45 mph and less, which the dealer tells me is also normal and will not repair.
