The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. The contact stated that he bought a titan replacement 52 gallon fuel tank (GM crew cab, short bed super series, part number: 7010211) (na) for the vehicle. The warranty lasted for five years. The contact stated that the support straps failed and the tank fell out of the vehicle while driving 20 mph. The contact re-strapped the tank and had the vehicle towed. The tank was leaking and the fuel pump and fuel lines were damaged. The titan manufacturer offered a small discount towards the repair cost of over $3,000 since the fuel tank was out of warranty. The dealer was not notified. The failure mileage was 123,000. The VIN was unknown. Consumer stated tank was installed in 2012. Updated 12/03/18

I was making a left turn at an intersection when another vehicle slammed into my truck head on. My air bags did not even deploy. Although my vehicle was the larger of the two, I expected the bags to do their intended job, but they failed to do so. This was one year after the recall and General Motors still don't have a remedy for the air bags

The interior dash is cracking. The cracks are severe around the airbag and instrument cluster. Based on my research, this is a problem with thousands of Chevy vehicles 2007-2013. The cracks around the airbags are a definate safety hazard if the airbags deploy. Sharp plastic pieces of the dash could act as projectiles. This appears to be a design problem with Chevy's dash.

Cracked dash near my air bag provide a big hazard. I have other cracks around my dashboard also, but the thing that scares me the most is the cracks by my airbag. I could lead to pices of sharp plastic flying to my passenger if the air bag ever goes off. Please we need a recall.

The dash around the airbag is cracked. This is very common on 2007-2013 GM vehicles. It is clearly a manufacturers defect, considering nine times out of ten they are broken. The dash is cracked to the point where if the airbag went off, I would not feel safe, in fear of shrapnel coming from the dash being in front of the inflating air bags. Local dealer offered no fix, aside from an over $1,000 out of pocket repair. This is unacceptable.

Paint is peeling from front hood. Separate research suggests this is a commonly reported problem with this model resulting from improper priming and finish coat paint procedure applied at the factory - defect. What can be done to resolve this issue?

I have been having a problem with exterior door handles breaking off. This has happened to me 3 times on my 2007 Chevy Silverado pick up truck. If you need to pull a little hard on the door handle to open the door because it has snow or ice on it (or it is just locked), it breaks off. The handles are made of plastic. My safety concern is this: If I am in an accident and unable to open the door myself, a rescue person may grab the handle a little too hard and it breaks off, thus they will be unable to get me out of the car quickly. I have ask GM if there were any recalls on this and they said no. Like I said I have replaced the handles 3 times and the truck has less than 50000 miles on it.

Silverado 2007 truck cracks just keep appearing in dash in airbag section for no reason. Truck is parked in garage 80 percent of time. If cracks keep appearing, what is going to keep airbag from coming out of dash for no reason" this truck is 6 years old with 62,000 miles on it very clean and the dash looks awful. Have contacted Chevrolet and they say no recalls, please tell me why"

I have a 2007 Chevrolet 3/4 ton pickup purchased new. I hauled 4 cattle syrup tubs which weigh 250 lbs a piece a total weight of 1000 pounds to my land lease which was about 70 miles from where I purchased the tubs. By the time I got to my lease the tubs had moved around bed. When I removed the tubs our of the pickup they had caved in both finder wells and separated the finder well from the bed causing about a 2-3 inch gap in the bed of by pickup. I have pictures of this. This pickup has 580000 miles on it and I can see the ground on the right side of the finder well by 2-3 inches. If Chevrolet is such a tough truck this should not of happened. I own a 2001 Chevy 1/2 ton Z71 have hauled the same amount of these tubs of 1000 lbs it dented the fender wells but never separated the bed. We own 6 Chevrolet pickups and have always been happy with GM products but this certainly makes you wonder about the build Chevy tough moto. I would appreciate a response on how to handle this as I feel this is a defect in this bed to come apart the way that it did.
