While at dealership for repair work mechanic determined that rear rotors were crumbling and needed to be replaced, drums and lining as well. The emergency brake was not working. The rear brakes were corroded and worn out. The rear brake pads and both rear rotors were replaced. The brake shoes on both sides were replaced. There was a squeaking noise in the front end when the vehicle goes over bumps. The driver door panel failed and was reinstalled, also the arm rest for the bucket seat pops off constantly, seat belts lock up after being replaced twice under recall, the steering joint was repaired, also when consumer steps on the gas, the truck does not move for a few seconds, the rear window was replaced, due to leaking, and the engine hesitates.

Consumer has had seatbelt repaired under a manufacturer's recall. But, consumer is calling to report that safety belts lock up at all times. Dealer has been contacted. The locking up of the seat belt severely restricts the drivers movement, the lock up problem makes it difficult to steer the vehicle and makes it impossible to reach the trailer-brake controller unit, at times the vehicle will not back up, possible transmission malfunction. Consumer can not get the retractor mechanism to release. Nlm

Once due to rust, other times dealer did not know what else to do. Front and rear pads were replaced twice. Consumer states there is a noise in the steering, also seat belt was hanging up, the underhood lamp was inoperative, an horn acting erractically.

This vehicle was rebuilt and the dealer tells me it has a "warranty block" on the VIN. I understand why this is done but I am told that this also blocks any recall campaign work from being done under warranty. This vehicle has not had any campaign work done to it. Is it legal for GM to not pay for the repairs to the brake system and seat belt system on this truck?

Consumer received recall notification about front seat belt retractors consumer took vehicle in for replacement seat belts, but when she got the vehicle back she states the seat belts did not fit properly, consumer states she is constantly pulling seat belt out of her throat, before the repair there were no problems with the belt sliding into her neck and choking her, consumer states she spends most of her time pulling the seat belt away from her, consumer went back to dealership to try and get the old seat belts back and dealership told her that the reason for the recall was because people were complaing that the seat belt was too tight and it limited their movement, she was told by dealership that they did not know where her old seat belts were and that she could purchase a clip that might help the problem with the seat belt cutting across her throat, consumer does not believe that she should have to pay for a clip, because of a design flaw with their seat belts (daughter on behalf of mother).
