I am having a problem with my 2001 Chevy Silverado, the brakes when I press down on them sound like there isn't any brakes their at all, making a grinding and growling sound. I have had it at three different Chevy dealers and they say that their isn't anything wrong with them. I know that their isn't something wrong with the brakes because it only makes that sound when I use my brakes. I am almost afraid to drive the truck long distance because I don't really trust it. Thanks.

All 4 rotors had to be replaced on my 2001 Silverado that had only 19,000 mi on it also all the brake shoes had to be replaced because the rotors had such rust build-up on them they ground off the shoes. This cost me over $400 to have repaired. The vehicle is well maintained and garage kept.

Rotors rusted and wouldn't allow the brake pads to make full and proper contact with the rotors because they were used. The consumer feels that GM should be required to inform the vehicle owners that the parts are made with used materials and that the warranty is not valid. Could have caused serious injuries. *
