Erratic stopping and squealing noise was noticed on May 17, 2005. Upon inspection, I found my rear break rotors on my 2002 Chevy Silverado 2500hd (39,000 mi.) to be extremely deteriorated. The metal is actually flaking off on the face of the rotors. The pads still have approx. 2/3 thickness remaining. I have not yet contacted the dealer, but from other complaints I've read, it looks like my dime to fix the problem.
