The contact owns a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. The fuel injector that connects to the motor has failed. The vehicle dealer and manufacturer were notified. He was advised to that he would have to bear the expense of the repair. The failure mileage was 87,000. Updated 2/17/10 updated 02/22/10

2001 to 2003 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra with 6.6L duramax diesel engines. The fuel injectors on these engines will eventually fail due to the fuel injector body cracks or ball seat erosion. GM maintains that this was not a safety issue.
