2007 Chevrolet Silverado new body style. When depressing the brake pedal the brake lights illuminate quickly and correctly. When partially releasing the brake pedal the brake lights will prematurely extinguish. The indication at this point to rearward vehicles is that a partial braking situation does not exist and that my vehicle is either coasting or under some level of power. On occasion this has caused vehicles behind me to panic stop, thankfully successfully, when they otherwise would have been aware of my intentions had my brake lights properly indicated my partial brake application.
