Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

My dash is cracking around the passenger airbag and above the instrument cluster. I am concerned that the cracked areas could come loose and become a projectile. The engine is also burning oil badly and could shut down while driving

The contact owns a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado. While driving approximately 15 mph, the contact depressed the brake pedal, but the vehicle continued to accelerate. The contact stated that the throttle was also sticking and the engine indicator was illuminating. The vehicle stalled and would not restart for ten minutes. This was a recurring failure. The contact had to push the onstar button, which provided the codes of the failure. The failure codes stated that the pps throttle system was failing. The dealer stated that they could not locate a failure. The manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 83,918. The VIN was unknown.

Involved in secondary collision with a Toyota pickup truck that had been struck by a loose truck tractor wheel. The impact by the wheel caused the Toyota to encroach into the path of the Chevrolet. We were making a stop at the light, when a 18-wheeler didn't stop and hit us in the back, pushing us towards the bus that was in front of us, making the glass of the back break and throwing all the crystals in our body and clothes, the air bags never open, the front seats were broken and 3 of the 4 doors couldn't close anymore, the driver tried to make a move to the left or right, but he could not, because we were stuck, when we realize there were no major injury, we stayed until the red cross came to check our condition, but there were crystals everywhere so we couldn't move without hurting ourselves. We buy the truck with 2 miles, we are the only owners.

Silverado 3500 4WD 8-cyl

  • 118,655 miles
Exhaust fluid quality poor appeared on the dash display, so I toped it off with more fresh def and the warning went away.3 days later the same warning came back on the dash display only with a new warning with it that said vehicle speed will be limited to 55mph next fuel fill, it did! I took the truck to the dealer they found bad nox sensors 1&2.repairs where not done because I felt that should be some sort of recall on defective parts that controls the drivability of a vehicle. On Feb-4-2015 I received a letter from GM after 2 years telling me that my truck may have nox sensors that can become contaminated and that GM is extending the warranty on the nox sensors and the wire connectors for 10/yrs. 120.000 miles which ever comes first. So I go back to the dealer and show them the letter from GM and show them my receipt from when I came in 2 years ago that shows that the nox sensors were defective way back in 2013 and are still on the vehicle and I need the repairs done per the letter from GM. The dealer is refusing to repair the vehicle because of the mileage that is now on the vehicle, however the defective parts that failed when the vehicle was within the mileage are still on the vehicle and I feel should be replaced and repaired or reimbursement for $800 programmer. I have contacted Chevrolet and they are working with that dealership to try and resolve this issue. Case number is available if needed, GM letter number is 13386.

November 19 2014 I was driving to work when my service exhaust fluid system dic came on, followed with the check engine light. It was taken to our local dealership and they replaced all components of the def system. Then on December 11 the exhaust fluid system dic came on again, but with the message that the fluid quality is poor. Once again it was taken to the dealer ship where they drained the tank and refilled it. Then again on December 16 2014 the exhaust fluid dic came on again with fluid quality is poor. Will once again return to the dealership.

Silverado 3500

  • 39,010 miles
Check engine light is displayed and the motor is hesitating. This issue is a second occurrence due to the valve cover leaking and causing the spark plugs to go bad. First time the vehicle was under warranty at approximately 29000 miles and now the vehicle has 39000 miles and the issue has recurred. This appears to be a continually recurring problem for 2011 Chevrolet Silverado trucks.
