Took car into Century Chevrolet in Broomfield, CO where we purchased the vehicle. Had recall work done on AC. Picked up the car and daughter started complaining that the AC was not cooling like it did when she first got it.

Took vehicle to King Chevrolet for other issues and asked them to check AC again as it was not cooling properly. After doing some research on the internet, I asked them to check the expansion valve to see if it was working.

Spark LX 1.8L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 51,348 miles

Took vehicle to King Chevrolet in Longmont, CO as it is closer than Century Chevrolet. My wife was taking the vehicle across country and I asked them to check the AC as I was told by Century that as a result of the recall replacement and another check, the AC was working fine. Was told by King that AC was working fine.

Even after the recall fixes the AC will pump warm air out of the vents periodically.

I just started having issues with my air condition and heater, the cold doesn't get cold and the heater now isn't working at all. I find it odd that both issues occurred simultaneously. I just got a new compressor last year due to a recall on it, and it seems the new compressor has not worked as well as the old one. I frustrated that my little sweet car is having issues already when it is only 1/2 pd off. :(

My wife loves the car when she isn't driving in the city. If you are in stop and go traffic then the A/C blows warm outside air. If you are on the highway it blows air that would cool a meat room. We have had the filters replaced and the compressor but it still does it.

Bought a new Chevy Spark from Classic Chevrolet in Mentor Ohio. Have complained every time I take the car in for oil change that the AC is barely working. They assure me all is within specs. None the less, the car has a barely functioning AC and is the car with the worst AC I have ever owned.

I bought the car new, I'm not a happy customer. I'd like Chevy to make the AC work in my car. The heat is not that great either. My wife owns the new, 2014 Mitsubishi Mirage, the heat and the AC are fine in that car, noticeably better.

I bought the car 5 Aug 2013 and the last weekend of that month I was in LA for a wedding and my AC went out at 3000 miles. I took it back to the dealership they replaced a part.

I brought it back in for the AC a second time and a recall was replaced. (I think it’s about to go out again). While that was annoying it was the least of my issues.

The A/C does not cool properly and appears to be intermittent though when ti is on full cool it is not real cool.

There is a known issue and GM has a fix. This will be one more problem for GM to fix.

Update from Jul 25, 2014: Dealer replaced filter and applied the recall fixes. An upcoming trip will verify if the fixes worked

After my engine had been replaced the latest problem involved the AC. During a three hour drive in south texas heat my car just stopped blowing cold air.I tried recharging to the AC to make it through the drive and notice a leek near the bottom of the compressor. I'll take post pictures later. I'll be taking into the dealership today. The worst part was by the time I got home at was at 36,032 miles!!!! Shoot me, this spark has been nothing but trouble.

Oil Consumption, Engine Replacement, Broken A/C.

Even though the car is bottom price, I would have expected a car in 2013 to have a decent AC that actually works.

A/C unit failed on the first day of summer. GM did not have any compressors available to repair my car in a timely matter. Waited 4 weeks for my car to be repaired. Dealer put me in a loaner at n/c. No complaint with dealership. But, GM knew this problem existed and is still selling the car. Buyer beware.

New chevy spark. AC not cooling, I have had it in the dealer 5 times they contacted chey engineering, Engineering says that cycling between 42 deg to 60 deg is normal? This means the car can only must keep the inside cool at 85 deg outside. My problem will be when its 110/113 deg in the summer here. Does anyone know if I have options.
