Noticed oil on floor of garage from under the car. Brought car to dealer, they replaced oil filter & said that was the problem. One week later I had to bring it back to dealer, oil leak was the same. Told them it may be from the oil dip stick tube & seal that is above the oil filter area. They said that was not it. They gave me a rental and said they are going to put dye in the oil to find where oil is leaking from. Will wait and see.!!

Update from Jun 5, 2014: Dealer added dye to the engine oil to find the area of the oil leak. Told me today that there was some sort of plug on the rear side of the engine block was leaking. They will have to pull the engine to get to it to replace plug. Have to order the part , so I am still waiting. When I get the repair receipt I will post the actual part replaced./ wally

Update from Jun 12, 2014: Dealer told me they found a leaking "plug" of some type on the rear upper side of the engine. No part in stock , so they had to senf for one off the assembly line in order to repair this. I have had the car my 2014 Spark at the dealer over a week now.!! Wally S. , Clermont,FL.

Update from Jul 3, 2014: After having my 2014 Chevy Spark at the dealer for 27 days, awaiting parts, it was finally repaired. The small oil leak above the engine oil filter area was caused by a leak in an aluminum plug that screws into the timing chain cover. It blaocks a port than isn't being used. The plug was stripped when installed at the factory. dealr could not remove the plug or order just a new plug. A whole new timing chain cover had to be ordered along with gaskets, eic. Maybe had to come from an assembly plant somewhere.? The whole engine had to be removed from the car in order to repair this problem. Also even a new oil pan had to be installed , also because Chevy instructions were if the oil pan had to be reoved s new one had to be installed.? //// Wally S.
