This is the third Suburban i have owned plus one Tahoe and the fuel pump has gone out in EVERY single one of them. It is very expensive to have fixed and as much as i love my Chevy i'm considering something else.

Started getting hard to start and then became almost impossible to start. Rented a fuel pressure gauge and what was supposed to be 60 psi was 5. Replaced myself which was a real pain in the ass. The quick connect fittings are not made for quick disconnect. Ran just fine after, with exception to burning oil. And a dead battery on a 3 year old truck. Traded in on an Expedition.

Truck wouldn't start out of the blue one day. A passerby told me to try it in neutral, and it finally started. While driving all the bells went off - Check Tire Monitor System, Stabilitrak Off, Traction Control Off.. When I got home and turned it off it still would not start unless in neutral. Took it into a shop, took 4 days to diagnose the problem - fuel pump. I still haven't gotten it back, they have had it over a week now. I had a 2002 GMC Yukon before this and replaced the fuel pump twice in it as well as the engine. I am really disappointed.

COMING FROM CA THE CAR DIED IN KINGMAN, AZ. PAIN IN BUTT. THEY SAID IT WAS THE FUEL PUMP. I SAY IT IS COMPUTER. THIS IS SUBURBAN #2 THAT THE PUMP WENT OUT ON, THAT IS IF IT IS THE PROBLEM WITH THIS ONE. THE SAD THING IS THEY ARE STUCK IN KINGMAN AND THAT IS 20 HRS AWAY. THEY HAVE TO ORDER A PUMP AND IT WILL BE IN ON FRI. (TODAY IS WED) THIS IS MY 5TH SUBURBAN AND I HAVE NEVER HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE OTHERS EXCEPT FOR MY LAST AND THIS ONES FUEL PUMP. THE OTHER ONE WENT OUT IN VEGAS. THAT ONE HAPPENED AT ABOUT 60 THOUSAND MILES I HAVE ONLY RUN ETHANOL IN IT ONCE AND THAT WAS ABOUT 2 MO AFTER I GOT IT. THIS ONE IS TO RUN EITHER OR THOUGH . SO I DON'T THINK THAT WAS THE PROBLEM. I HAVEN'T HEARD OF A RECALL ON THE PUMPS AND I DON'T KNOW IF THERE IS ANY CHANGE ON THE FUEL PUMPS OR IF THEY ARE JUST A BAD BATCH OF THEM. IT WOULD BE NICE IF THEY DEALERS WOULD KEEP FUEL PUMPS ON HAND. THEY WERE DRIVING IT DIED THEY STARTED IT DROVE FOR A LONG TIME STOPPED FOR GAS AND WOULD NOT START. AFTER 45 MIN IT STARTED AND THEN DROVE FOR ABOUT 5 MIN AND ALL THE BELLS AND WHISTLES WENT OFF AND IT DIED. THE LAST PUMP THAT WENT OUT IT CHOKED A COUPLE OF TIMES LOST POWER AND DIED. NO BELLS AND WHISTLES WENT OFF.
