Pushed the NAV button and the MENU screen pops up. Pushed Source button to go back and then pushed NAV again. Again the MENU screen pops up. Repeat Source button and then push MENU button and MENU pops up. I cycled the ignition off and then on again and NAV worked the way it was supposed to.
Update from Dec 31, 2016: This was also related to the short in the courtesy light module. Module was replaced under warranty by the dealer.
