Overall my 2002 Tahoe for what I paid used is a good deal. I have two mechanics at different shops who want first dibs to buy it- even with these miles.

But this is an expensive beast to fix.

heat cannot be turned off no matter how low the setting or setting it to off,

fresh air intake works sometime light does not always stay on

*AC does not work, seem to get it serviced ever other year.

Tahoe Z71 5.3L Va 325

  • Automatic transmission
  • 219,740 miles

front A/C works on 4,5 but not 1,2,3 back works fine

Since I have had this vehicle (was 2 yrs old at the time, bought from an individual that wanted to upgrade) I have replaced the transmission 2 times, the alternator 2 times, fixed the passenger side electric window (wouldn't roll down). Now the AC wont work on 1,2 or 3! So frustrating, with everything else I have put in it now I have deal with either the air not being on at all (hot and cold) either creating a wind tunnel or freeze or sweat to death. My teen hates sitting in the front because of this, making me feel like a chauffer!!! Can't afford another thing wrong and don't know how to fix myself!

I have read where others posted on here, according to the info on the forum "z71Tahoe-suburban.com and Chevy fixed it for them for free. I am hoping the same thing happens to me!!!

Check with your dealership, they did a recall on some. I posted a link to the TSB in the blower motor resistor thread, link in Gary P's post, towards the end. Just got mine fixed for free couple weeks ago.
