I am filing a complaint in regards to the Chevy Tahoe 2007 ltz model I own. The vehicle has been claimed by thousands of owners to have a factory bad dashboard. The dashboard is made with a very cheap and unsafe plastic. This plastic cracks due to natural causes from heat and cold. The plastic also after some time will crack and deteriorate again due to unsafe and poor plastic material. The remedy is to purchase a new dashboard panel and pay for the professional labor to install. This product cost should be shard at a bare minimum by GM due to good faith practices. I would like to have my claim reviewed and passed on to GM for the purpose of correcting this unsafe factory plastic dashboard. The airbags can create and cause a highly unsafe deployment by exploding cheap and sharp shard of plastic into the eyes and face of the passenger/driver. GM is claiming to not have the legal requirement to repair or pay for this unsafe dashboard that should of been a recall.
Dash is completed cracked from side to side (driver to passenger) in multiple places. It continues to get worse and is now lifting the passenger side airbag up to the point where I am afraid to have a passenger ride in the front.

I'm very concerned because I had my passenger airbag inspected because the light is on. I was told that the airbag needed to be repaired and that there is a very high chance that it would not function properly upon impact. I have to pay out my pocket or ride around with a non operational airbag because it's taking years for a resolution to be found.

Emissions recall the propellant in some types of takata airbag inflators can degrade over time, especially after long term exposure in hot and humid regions. If the propellant degrades to a certain level, the inflators may rupture during deployment, causing serious or fatal injuries.
Safety airbag recall replacement still not completed and would like to know why this has not been resolved. Initial notification letter was received July 2016. I have checked websites for recall notification updates and no information on my vehicle. This has been almost 3 years since the court case decision. If I wanted to sell my vehicle, I can't because of the recall not being resolved!!

The contact stated that the technician failed to inform him that the VIN was subjected to the takata recall. The contact stated that during an emission test he was informed that the vehicle was a included in NHTSA campaign number: 16V383000 (air bags) however, the part was not yet available. NHTSA has failed to timely resolve a petition for inconsequentiality for a known defect. Today's date is January 14, 2020. Please do your job and ensure GM is required to complete the recall below. NHTSA recall number: 16V381 recall date: May 27, 2016 manufacturer recall number: 2049151 GM has submitted to NHTSA a petition for inconsequentiality and NHTSA has granted GM until August 2017 to complete its investigation and to submit all data supporting the petition
