CarComplaints.com Notes: The Trailblazer emerged from an "upscale trim line" of the Blazer, but there's nothing upscale about its transmission problems or its wonky, unpredictable headlights.

The original complaint was in reference to recall number 10169395 (visibility:windshield wipers). Chevrolet informed him that his complaint file was closed and issued him a check for $240. I live in southwest Ohio and I own a 2002 Trailblazer. I noticed that in December of 2006, my rear windshield wiper would not function when turned on. Shortly thereafter, we had our first frost and I noticed that the rear defogger/defroster was not working. It is now nearly 0 degrees outside and even if I clean the window with a scraper, it still frosts up while driving. I have looked for a fuse to replace, but find none for the rear defrost, and the one for the rear wiper is fine. Just yesterday, I picked up some large items at a home improvement store and was unable to unlock the rear gate, I tried to use the button on my remote, to which the car no longer responds, even with new battery, I tried to unlock it from the driver side controls with the car off and turned on, but nothing happened. So there me and my pregnant wife were standing in zero temperature weather with three large items on a cart and nowhere to go with them. We ended up paying somebody to haul them to our house.

The contact states there was NHTSA recall campaign 04V046000 regarding windshield wiper/washer. The dealer performed only a partial correction to the defective component. The partial repair did not correct the safety defect. The vehicle has not been fully repaired, because the contact would have to cover the cost of the repairs.

Upon starting vehicle, the electrical system malfunctioned, causing the headlights, radio, and the dashboard lights to short out. This happened several times. The consumer had taken the vehicle to the dealer and they changed the sensors, however it did not solve the problem. There was noise in the steering wheel. The consumer was told that the problem was a characteristic. The hatch lock did not work, and the rear windshield wiper did not work. The oxygen sensor was changed twice along with the seat belt switch, the key lock on the driver door, battery, and the wiring harness. Also the cup holder broke.
