CarComplaints.com Notes: Carrying the not-so-proud traditions of its 2002 predecessor, the 2003 has a handful of instrument panel malfunctions that can leave you guessing your speed, engine temperature or how much gas is left in the tank.

2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer. Fuel sensor has gone out. The failure was not caused by anything done by the consumer. My fuel gauge constantly reads empty and is no accurate. I talked with the dealership, and even though other vehicles with the same equipment have had recalls issued, they have not issued one for the Trailblazer. I know several people who have the exact same problems with their Trailblazers (2003 - 2006 models) and it costs approximately $800 to get it fixed at the dealership.

2003 Trailblazer lt. Check engine light came on and stayed on for about a 3 weeks. Brought vehicle to service at dealership, was told that I needed to replace my fuel tank because there was a leak in my fuel tank and it should be replaced. Cost would be about $1100. I have also replaced my kick panel at least 6 times. Everytime I have to come out of pocket for something that is poorly made by the manufacture. I know others are experiencing this same problem. Please look into this situation for us, we need your help. I drive my vehicle everyday and only have about 63,000 miles, my vehicle is like new and I am the only driver.

I have a 2003 Trailblazer, where the fill spout is on the gas tank, is broke, by talking and checking on the web, there are a lot of people with the same problem, Chevrolet said, "I hate it for you that I don't live in a high corrosion area", but they have sent a special bulletin for the defect they will not fix it because of where I live. This is dangerous for alot of reasons, fuel leaks for 1 the only remedy is $1,500.

The contact owns a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer. While driving 25 mph, the fuel gauge needle moved to full. Upon filling the vehicle with fuel, the gauge remained full for the rest of that day. The following day, when the vehicle was started, the needle went around in a circle (counter clockwise) beyond the full mark. The failure has continued for the past six months. The contact read that the failure was due to a sensor in the gas tank, but has not taken the vehicle to the dealer or a mechanic. The manufacturer has not been notified. The current mileage was 90,300 and failure mileage was 85,000.

Fuel gauge on 2003 Chevy Trailblazer does not work. This is a safety hazard. Vehicles running out of fuel can be a safety hazard with people walking on highways to get gas and people getting stranded.
