Huge win for car owners! All TSBs to be made public. The Center for Auto Safety just made the NHTSA (US Government) make public the full text of all TSBs from now on. They are the same organization that has petitioned the NHTSA & filed lawsuits to protect car owners over exploding gas tanks & other major safety issues. Whenever you drive in your car, you are safer thanks in part to a lot of work over the years by this small but very effective consumer advocacy group.

Please take a moment & say thank you by donating $5 or whatever you can to the Center for Auto Safety. Notes: Carrying the not-so-proud traditions of its 2002 predecessor, the 2003 has a handful of instrument panel malfunctions that can leave you guessing your speed, engine temperature or how much gas is left in the tank.

The contact owns a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The contact stated that there was an overheating bulb in the tail light assembly. He received a recall notice in 2004 for this failure at 40,000 miles. The dealer inspected both lights and discovered that only the driver's side tail light was defective. The passenger side light was not affected at the time, but currently it is beginning to fail three years later. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and they stated that since it was previously tested and diagnosed, they would not repair the passenger side tail light. The recall number was unknown. The current mileage was 121,839 and failure mileage was 40,000.
