/The cd player went out 2yrs after purchase...supposably chevy replaced it! About 4 yrs ago I was having problems w/the fuel light..come to find out there was a recall on my tank seal..I asked the dealership to check the stereo and they told me there was nothing wrong w/it...It will not play cds,,it locks up the whole stereo if you try...then you can't shut the damn thing off!! Have to disconnect the battery to get the stereo to go off! This is freakin' annoying as hell when I'm on long trips and I would like to listen the the hundreds of cds I have; which I haven't been able to do for yrs. I know they're gonna charge me and arm and a leg to replace it w/a crappy factory stereo; but I really don't want an after market in there and it look stupid..I have service papers and vin #, but I'm not going out @ midnight to put them in!!

My family was out of town and another family member put a cd in my car to listen with my husband and it wouldn't come out. Tried for several minutes to get it out and nothing. Kept pushing the eject button on the way home and once arriving home. Still nothing. One day while driving, the cd ejected on its own. I have not put a cd in there since. I have xm radio, but am a bit disappointed that I'm not able to listen to a cd from time to time. could this be a part of the instrument cluster problem? Come on GM, when does a problem warrant a recall?
