Trailblazer LT 3.2L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 60,000 miles

I had this truck 1 year this month. I traded a Malibu LS for a dependable vehicle to get myself and three kids around. Last week my service engine soon light came on and the mechanic that changed my oil stated it was my air system that could cost around $500.00. Then I went to leave work today and I was driving home doing maybe 15 mph and it stated I was doing 55 mph. I parked in my driveway turned my truck off and it stated that my truck was going 20 mph. I don't know what it is with these vehicles but I certainly did not intend to pay 16,000.00 for a truck with a $3000.00 warranty not to have these parts not included. Or all of these reviews. I think GM needs to get off their butt and take care of the people that buy these, and make it right.!!!! Any objections????? Sincerely a very disappointed Chevy Owner!!!

After getting diagnostic and labor and parts, it is just cheaper to get a Garmin or TomTom with GPS that tells you how fast you are going and where you are going.

Cant believe this problem hasn't been recalled as of yet. Coming on to this website and other browsing I've done, it appears that this is a long standing problem. Why hasn't GM recalled the issue? I'm driving down the highway and the speedometer says I'm going 110 but everyone is passing me? Hmmm...

ABS, parking brake, and battery warning lights stayed on. No gauges working, except tach. Not happy to find GM recalled this on other models, but didn't include Trailblazer.

I HAD MY VEHICLE ONLY 2 DAYS AND THE SPEEDOMETER STOPPED WORKING ON THE HIGHWAY. MY MECHANIC TOLD ME THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE SPEEDOMETERS FOR THE YEAR OF THIS VEHICLE AND TO TAKE MY VEHICLE TO A CHEVY DEALER. I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO THE CHEVY DEALER AND HE SAID THERE WAS NOT A RECALL ON MY SPEEDOMETER AND IT WOULD COST CLOSE TO $500.00 TO FIX.

We were told this is a common problem with Trailblazers. Even though warranty had expired, because we have such a good relationship with the dealer, they spoke with GM on our behalf and it was paid by them.

The speedometer works for a day or two and then stops working for three or four days. The dealer near me said that I would have to replace the whole dash unit to fix the problem. I'm going to wait a week or two for any recalls and then figure what I'm doing after that. It's just tough riding around downtown trying to figure out what 30 is when it says that I'm going 120. What is more frustrating is trying to figure out 55 on the highway. I'm sure I'm speeding.

I have 87,000 miles on my trailblazer this is the first problem I have had. All the gauges go dead the brake and airbag lights come on and some times the speedodometer says you are going70. Chevy has a recall on the Silverado but none on the trailblazer. they have told me about 500 dollars to fix the problem

A friend owns a 2006 Chevy Silverado truck that has the same problem. the speedometer reads faster than the actual speed. If the truck is restarted several times without driving, the speedometer will eventually work its way back to 0 and read correctly for a few days.
