CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2002-2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer is known for many things, but perhaps it is most famous for its faulty fuel gauge.
This gauge flip-flops more than a politician during election season. Some report that the gauge says "empty" after a fill-up, while others report the gauge says "full" when they're running on fumes. Either way, there's one thing everyone seems to agree on: the darn thing is just wrong.
Following hundreds of complaints and a few accidents allegedly caused by the malfunction, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) opened an investigation into the issue in May 2011. Unfortunately for frustrated owners, no recall has been announced.

ON MY VERY FIRST ROAD TRIP TO ARIZONA FROM CALIFORNIA MY AC CONDENSER GOT HIT BY A PEBBLE AND I LOST MY AC. THE ARIZONA HEAT IS UNBARELABLE, ESPECIALLY FOR THE CHILDREN. WHEN I GOT HOME AND TOOK IT TO THE DEALER I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER ANY WARRANTY BECASUE IT WAS NOT A MANUFACTURER DEFECT OF THE PART. BEING THAT LIKE MOST WORKING CLASS FAMILIES I DID NOT HAVE THE CASH TO MAKE THE REPAIR IMEDIATELY, I SAVED FOR THREE MONTHS TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS THAT CAME OUT TO $875.00. ONCE I HAD MY AC READY, I PLANNED MY NEXT FAMILY VACATION TO PALM DESERT. SURE ENOUGH ON THE WAY BACK MY AC CONDENSER GOT HIT WITH ANOHTER PEBBLE OR ROCK WHATEVER! IT APPEARS TO ME THAT THIS IS A PROBLEM. THE GRILL OF THE TRAILBLAZER DOES NOT PROVIDE PROTECTION TO THE AC CONDENSER. SECOND THE AIR INTAKE HOLES AT THE BOTTOM OF THE BUMPER DO NOT HAVE ANY GRILL OR SCREEN TO PROTECT THE AC CONDESER. THIRD, THERE IS NO COVER AT THE BOTTOM OF ENGINE COMPARTMENT TO KEEP DEBRI FROM COMING UP AND HITTING THE CNDENSER. BASICALLY THE DESIGNERS LEFT THE AC CONDENSER VULNERABLE TO IT BEING HIT BY PEBBLES OR ROCKS. I DO NOT THINK THAT I SHOULD HAVE TO KEEP PAYING FOR AC CONDENSER REPLACEMENTS. note This vehicle has been road and highway driven only, it has not been driven off-road.
