CarComplaints.com Notes: There are a fair-number of power steering related complaints which is a continuation of problems from the previous model year. Considering the problem tends to happen beyond the standard warranty (73k+) it's best to avoid this vehicle or at least be prepared for the $1,300+ repair.

I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE ON 5/12/2011 SINCE THAT TIME IT HAS BEEN IN THE SERVICE DEPT OF TWO CHEVROLET DEALERSHIPS FIVE TIMES AND IT IS STILL NOT REPAIRED. THEY HAVE CHANGED SENSORS, CLEANED DEBRIS AND REPLACED FRAYED WIRES AND THE BRAKING SYSTEM CONTINUES TO FAIL. I WAS SITTING AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT (MY FINAL BREAKING POINT) AND WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE THE ABS KICKED IN PULSATING MY FOOT AND THEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT STRAIGHT TO THE FLOOR. I AM NOW STUCK WITH A VEHICLE I AM NOT ABLE TO DRIVE AND CHEVROLET REFUSES TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT. I CONTACTED A CHEVY REP WHO REPLIED TO ME , 1) I SHOULD'VE GOTTEN A CAR FAX AND 2) I SHOULD'VE INVESTIGATED THE VEHICLE PRIOR TO PURCHASE. ARE THEY SERIOUS? THIS IS A BRAND NEW VEHICLE. I NEED SOME TYPE OF ASSISTANCE I AM NOT GOING BACK TO THEIR SERVICE DEPTS I AM DONE WITH CHEVROLET. I WORK EVERYDAY AND MY DAMN TAX DOLLARS WENT TOWARD THEIR BAIL OUT WHAT A JOKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ON JUNE 27TH I TOOK MY NEW 2011 TRAVERSE TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE FIFTH TIME FOR REPAIR. THIS TIME I WAS TOLD THE WIRING HARNESS HAD BEEN FRAYED BECAUSE IT WAS ROUTED INCORRECTLY. SO THEY CHANGED THE HARNESS. I PULLED OUT OF THE DEALERSHIP AND THE ALERTING LIGHTS CAME BACK ON IMMEDIATELY. I AM DONE WITH THE SUPPOSEDLY TECH SUPPORT KNOWING WHATS WRONG WITH THIS VEHICLE. THEY CAN TAKE IT BACK. I AM FINISHED WITH GENERAL MOTORS. I KNOW WHAT GM STANDS FOR NOW - GENERAL MAINTENANCE!!!!!!!!! ANYTIME A BRAND NEW VEHICLE IS IN THE REPAIR SHOP 5 TIMES IN LESS THAN TWO MONTHS ITS A DAMN SHAME.
