I had the power doors checked numerous times. One mechanic was nice enough to show us how to do it ourselves. They have never worked right from the beginning. I have two kids and I have to stand out in the snow and cold to push on the doors to get them to shut.

We just love this van, but with these problems it is become to be a PAIN. They have taken it in and worked on it, but there is still a problem with the slidding door as well as the gas gage.

I have had SO many problems with the sliding doors!! I have continued to take it to the dealership that we bought it from and they continue to inspect it but never seem to fix the problems. They do little things like adjust the striker or clean the contacts but it NEVER resolves the problem. I have owned the vehicle for 4 years and still continue to have problems. I have had the doors come open while I am driving down the road. They have also not wanted to open the way that they are supposed to. Now I am being told that I am closing them improperly and I don't have to pull out on the handle, that I just have to glide it forward to close. That was not the feature when I bought the Uplander. I loved this vehicle but if I had known all of the headaches that came with it, I would never have bought it. I have contacted Chevy and they are not very helpful. They told me that I had to take my vehicle back and drive it because according to the maintenance people at the dealership it had been fixed. They told me to contact them if the problem occurred. I picked up my vehicle and less than 24 hours later the doors would not work again. I say to Chevy recall them all, especially the 2005 models!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My Uplander has a warning buzzer from the driver"s side sliding door which goes off at will. The vehicle is in motion each time this happens. I have had the module replaced, the striker re-set, and today, they said I needed a new battery! Now the door will not lock with the remote or the automatic door lock button. It has to be done manually by depressing the red button. The dealer seems to be at a loss and yet I have seen this problem reported by others. My son is handicapped and this buzzer drives him up the wall. Me, too!! I would love to find someone who has successfully had this problem solved.

1. The power sliding doors are a convenience as well as hazardous! My 2005 Uplander does have the safety feature of re-opening when something/someone is in the path of it being closed. My latest issue is at the rear of the door while it was closing. My 18mo old granddaughter had her little fingers on the back of the door (we did not catch as we were unloading and trying to keep everyone close in the parking lot) when it closed completely. She was sore for a few days and a little bruised. Now we have to pay attention to the back of the door as well as the front during closings. #2. The seatbelt on the power door side 70% of the time does not retract completely and the buckle will inadvertently get caught up in the closing of the door causing the door to re-open. Too far to reach so have to pull over retract the seatbelt into correct position and close the door. #3. Have also had the constant beep-beep noise of the door open warning when it was completely and securely closed, very annoying!. For safety reasons, I have the door set to only open from the outside when passengers are in the 2nd row and engage the door lock button on the overhead console.

i have had to take my van in I think five time for this problem the first time i had had it for only a month. the dealership has been very nice about it but has not been able to fix this. i have had to call the corp. offices, they have been no help i have called the b. b. b. the first time i called the corp. office they told me that because the dealership had not been able to see the problem for themselves there was nothing i could do. they told me that the next time that the door would not close to go straight to the dealer so they could see. well as you can imaging how frustrated i am. i loved everything about my van when i got it, it fit our family perfectly now at can honestly say that i hate this van and would not consider ever buying a Chevy again. keep in mind this is not the only problem that i have had with this van it is just the worst.

I have also experienced problems with the passenger rear sliding door. It will not open at times - my 7 year old cannot do it. Then once he is inside, he presses the button to close it, and it opens back up. I have to get out of the van and manually close it hard. It has also had problems with the beeping for the door, and I have had to drive for hours with it beeping unable to get it to stop - always happens on the weekend. Onstart was even unable to help me. We are currently pursuing lemon law on this vehicle as we have had it 11 months, and it has been fixed 5 times for this problem.

After two months of purchase, the sliding door failed to close on four separate occasions. This problem caused serious disruption in my working schedule and appointments. The van was taken to our dealership and was left there for two days. They claimed to fix the problem, but one week later the problem returned. Fustration, fustration, fustration with GM Canada and the dealership.

Not only have the doors shut on both of my children, rendering my 5 year old unable to walk without a limp for a couple of days, the drivers side actually came open by itself while I was driving at 50 miles per hour. Now my children have to sit in the very back of the van, out of my reach. Additionally, every time I hit a bump, it disconnects from the sensor and sets off the alarm. I have to stop, put it in park, manually open and close it and then I can drive in relative peace - until I hit another bump, of course. Although, the dealership has fixed it (temporarily) every time, I've had it in for repairs EIGHT times in a year. Twice because the doors just quit working altogether. I also assume this is why it's so loud that I have to shout to the passenger next to me to make myself heard. It has a ridiculous amount of road noise. It is not a safe vehicle and I am currently pursuing lemon law remedies.

Because there are not safety sensors on the rear power sliding doors, my daughter got caught in the door when it was closing. Who on earth came up with power sliding doors with no safety mechanism. A caution is listed in the owners manual. Fortunately my daughter was just badly bruised. I think if she were a younger child or toddler the injuries would have been much worse. We took for granted that since we were purchasing a mini-van that it had all the safety issues covered - WRONG. I urge all owner of this van to carefully watch children (and yourselves) getting in and out the van.
