One issue with the poorly designed engine compartment is that when the mechanics replaced the alternator, in order to do so, they had to move parts in the engine compartment. In doing so, they inadvertently moved a coolant hose next to the alternator pulley. By the time we returned the 1000 miles from Georgia, the pulley was damaged and ruined the new serpentine hose we had just put on it the month before.

One cannot access both posts of the battery to jump the car. One must use only the positive terminal and ground the other jumper on the frame of the vehicle. To check the posts or the battery, one must remove a component situated on top of the battery. This adds to frustration when the battery needs to be jumped or checked and increases costs due to the additional labor required.
